Mill Valley Ranch; Tynong, Victoria, Australia

The closest I ever got to summer camp as a kid was soccer camp...but I've more than made up for it.  I love kids and I love the outdoors and camp is the most amazing combination of the two...I spent ten years at Camp Lake Stephens and am so very thankful for the ways God used me in that place...I've gotten to be at a lot of other camps over the years and seen Jesus at work...I've met some of the best friends I've ever had at camp....later this week I'm taking our amazing Super Sixers to The Country Place, a summer camp in Moscow, Tennessee for our year end retreat.....All that to say I love camp...but there's one place I've been that is simply like no other place on earth...Mill Valley Ranch....near Melbourne, Australia.

The first step into Mill Valley Ranch is a step into an 1880's style Western Village (think Little House on the Prarie)...The dining hall is The Stage Coach Inn (reminds me of Salado)... The worship services are held in a church built in the 1800's (so amazing).... There is a "Ferris Wheel" which would never pass any inspection in America but is unbelievably fun...The place is actually a working ranch with horses everywhere....You can cool off or just hang out at the Ice Cream Saloon...and the cabins...WOW....Half the cabins have fake storefronts so you might be staying in the Blacksmith shop or the Barber shop...the other half (and where I stayed) are covered wagons....The program is amazing....The kids are having a blast...Jesus is at work....Mill Valley has been run since the beginning by Arthur and Bonnie Bartlett....founders of Christian Camping International Australia....The kids have been coming since January 6, 1969 and there's no end in sight...

So there you go with spot #8....Mill Valley Ranch...maybe just maybe the coolest camp I've ever seen
